The Best Garlic Chilli Prawns 🌢🍀¢

These are mediterranean style garlic chilli prawns, normally I double the garlic and chilli for this recipe and the oil is so good to dip with warm fresh crusty bread.

IngredientsΒΆ

  • 600g prawns de-veined peeled (but keep the tail) (I fed heads to the cat 🐈)

  • 1/4 cup olive oil (or enough to cover your prawns in the cooking vessel)

  • 50 g unsalted butter cubed room temperature

  • 5 garlic cloves diced

  • 4 Red chilli chopped (keep seeds in if you like chilli or take them out if not)

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • 1/3 cup fresh italian flat-leaf parsley chopped (or coriander)

  • 1/2 lemon juiced large

  • 2 pinches sea salt

  • 2 pinches black cracked pepper

  • Fresh warm crusty bread for dipping

TipsΒΆ

  • Small cast iron pots to cook these in so you do not require so much oil

  • You do not want to let the green stuff turn charcoal (a tiny bit is OK)

MethodΒΆ

  1. Put the oil in the pot and heat it until it crackles if you throw some chilli in

  2. Throw everything into the hot oil carefully

  3. Cook to your liking, prawns do not require more than 4 minutes and they will continue to cook in the oil after you take it off the stove

  4. Eat with dipping bread, you can also cook some pasta and throw a few teaspoons of oil onto the pasta and mix with the green bits and the prawns
